About Linda

I have been an Entrepreneur and business specialist for a total of 16 years. I know from experience the ups and downs of getting started, the challenges of finding financing, deciding on marketing, plus taming the operations and people management side of a growing business.

I know the Courage it takes to make tough business decisions and have learned the hard way the role that health and balance can play in our success.

The business race for me really began at the family table with my grandfather and then my father.

I left my OWN starting gate with 2 sub franchises AND a salon (no body ever said I wasn’t fearless!) I came up the backstretch with a partnership in an educational consulting service, plus a run as a business course facilitator - working with over 500 possible entrepreneurs from every industry.

I began my own business coaching practice under the marketing flag of www.victoriabusinesstalk.com after a year of research into current trends in marketing - and the coaching industry. (I have been accused many times of being the research queen!)

For the past 4 years this nontechy has had great fun (?) developing a very successful local website. The entire marketing strategy behind this unique website was based upon the principles of Relationship Marketing. At the 20,000 (4000 unique) hits per month point I have just decided to sell the website and maybe escape some of this writing! I am currently enjoying Networking in several associations and affiliations... you can see their colourful logos down the side.

As for my education, I proudly discuss my business coaching credentials from the *School of Experience. I have proven over and over that my clients hire me for my practical knowledge of business issues NOT for a coaching credential. I AM working towards a designation from the International Association of Coaches (IAC) - and do have a B. Ed from a previous lifetime...

*My personal business experience includes negotiating four commercial leases, managing a staff of up to 10, setting up six offices (four were home offices), and managing an average annual operating budget of 225k.

I really heard my calling when I began to research the world of coaching. When Thomas Leonard invented coaching in the 80’s, I think he very wisely gave us the handle of ‘coach’. I like the comparison to sport coaching. We cheer you from the sidelines but we don’t carry the ball for you. Every point belongs to us both but you do the running.

I am Passionate about what business can teach us but living a balanced life I believe is the greatest lesson of all. I strive to live - and promote - a holistic approach to starting and growing a business.

I am blessed with a 'natural marketing mind' - and have been described as a gifted facilitator and workshop presenter.

I have been told many times that I am inspiring. You too will come away from our work with an increased sense of self esteem and with more Courage to dare and to Dream.

Clients work with me on all aspects of their businesses- management challenges, marketing strategy, operational organisation, financing concerns, growth plans, industry research, staff and performance evaluations etc.!...always with the focus on balancing self-employment with a full personal life.

I enjoy the prospect of getting to know a new client and their challenges as well as growing along with my ‘oldest’ clients and their businesses. My business coaching practice now includes corporate contracts as well as startup and expanding companies both in the Victoria area and on the mainland.
